Scarlett Johansson and partner Colin Jost were rumored to be expecting their first child earlier this summer. However, Page Six, has now confirmed the news.
While performing at Connecticut’s Ridgefield Playhouse over the weekend, Jost announced to audience members, “we’re having a baby, it’s exciting.”
Rumors sparked in July due to the actress’s lack of promotion and interviews for Black Widow. This was surprising, considering her involvement as lead star and executive producer on the project.
We now know that the combination of the couple’s news and her current legal battle with Disney are explanations for her lying low.
Following the release of Black Widow, The Marvel actress claimed that her agreement was breached and there were issues with her compensation.
The film’s hybrid theatre and online release allegedly violated her contract. The decision to sue was controversial, for Disney and much of the public believed that Johansson’s complaints were insensitive to the current state of the pandemic.
This isn’t the only project that she is working on at the time – Deadline confirmed that Scarlett Johansson will be joining the cast of the next Wes Anderson film. The project is currently in production in Spain.
Anderson, who continues to star-stud his cast, will also be working with cast members Margot Robbie, Tom Hanks, Adrian Brody, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Rupert Friend, and Tilda Swinton. This will not be Johansson’s first time working with the director, as she previously took part in the 2018 stop-motion piece, Isle of Dogs.
Hollywood Reporter reveals that the project is set to wrap shooting in late September, just in time for the opening of [Anderson’s] latest movie, The French Dispatch, in October via Searchlight.
Though little is known about the storyline or Johansson’s role, we can not wait to see what this film has in store! How do you feel about this news? Let us know by dropping a reaction below or by sending us a tweet at @Celebsecrets.
