‘Southern, Soulful and Classic’ Country Artist Reid Haughton Releases “Day You Don’t” Ahead of His Upcoming 7-Track EP (Exclusive)

On January 20th, rising country star Reid Haughton released a hot new track titled “Day You Don’t,” ultimately paving the way for a VERY successful 2023.

“Day You Don’t” describes Haughton’s feeling of “waiting for the day his pre-occupied love-interest realizes she can do much better than who she’s currently with,” ultimately tugging on the listener’s heart strings and relaying a story that many of us can relate to.

The talented singer-songwriter revealed to Celeb Secrets reporter Melanie Rooten in an EXCLUSIVE interview, “it’s just from the point of view of like the love triangle, so to speak, of the guy who’s watching the girl he wants getting treated wrong, you know, and just waiting on his chance, waiting on the day that she wises up.”

“I think it’s something that a lot of people have lived out and, I mean, I’ve seen it and I’ve seen it play out, so I think, you know, we knew it was like a relatable thing the day we wrote it,” Haughton continued.

In the one-on-one chat, the Haleyville, Alabama native even revealed some secrets regarding an upcoming project that is in the works.

Beginning with “Day You Don’t” and following with six more original songs, Haughton is “shooting for an EP by summer and then maybe a record by the end of the year.”

The most exciting thing about the upcoming project is that it is 100% authentically Reid Haughton, and our new favorite song “Day You Don’t” was the track that jumpstarted the budding country artist into truly finding his style.

“‘Day You Don’t’ was one of the first tracks, like it’s gonna be on the project that was written, so it kind of like opened up like the whole realm of what, you know, sparked this new idea in my head about like, ‘Oh I think I found like me as a song,'” he revealed.

While chatting about his upcoming EP, Haughton shared with us, “I think this is the stuff that’s truly who I am. It sounds like stuff that I’ve been influenced by, which would be like stuff I grew up on like Lynyrd Skynyrd, you know, the Grateful Dead and a lot of like seventies rock stuff, and then my mom also introduced me to like contemporary country, so that’s where I picked up that kind of stuff.”

While Reid Haughton revealed to us that he has “a seven-song EP that’s coming out by June,” new music may be coming even sooner than you may think…

The rising country star recently took to social media to share that he has a brand new track coming out on Valentine’s Day (February 14th), and we are SO excited.

In a tweet on Tuesday (January 31st), Haughton revealed “So excited to finally say that ‘She Is’ comes out on 2/14! This has been a special song for me since day one and I can’t wait for y’all to hear it,” attaching the cover art and a link to pre-save the soon-to-be hit track.

Until his new song “She Is” drops on all music streaming platforms, we will continue to stream “Day You Don’t” AND anxiously await Reid Haughton’s upcoming project.
