Spotify Wrapped for The Year: 2021’s Most Streamed

As the year comes to an end, it’s time for Spotify to wrap things up! Spotify is giving fans a whole new experience to conclude the year.

The Wrapped experiences cater to listener’s personal data to recap musical tastes for the year. However, for the first time, the music streaming app has added new aspects like “Audio Aura.”

This new feature is an aura reader that determines your top two music moods of the year based off of your frequent listens. In addition, Spotify has included a fun game of two truths and a lie for audiences to determine which one of the three facts about their listening this year is false.

For the theme of the year, Spotify has created your very own movie soundtrack, playing out songs that suit your opening credits, your fight scene, your epic training montage and other cinematic moments all based off your data.

Spotify company said in a statement, “As usual, Wrapped helps us reflect on the large role audio played in the lives of our listeners—and how our favorite creators soundtracked the world around us.”

To conclude 2021 though, Spotify did announce their most streamed artists, songs and music overall for the year. Reggaeton musician, Bad Bunny takes the title for most streamed musician again with 9.1 billion streams all without releasing a new album. Not too far behind, artists Taylor Swift, BTS, Drake and Justin Bieber lead for top 5 most streamed artist globally this year.

New stars also made their mark, Olivia Rodrigo topping both lists for most streamed albums and most streamed songs. Other arising artist, Lil Nas X and The Kid LAROI got their names on the board.
