Teen Mom’s Catelynn Baltierra Says New Season of ‘Family Reunion’ Has A Lot of “Emotions, Tears and Drama” (Exclusive)

Teen Mom is kicking off the new year with an all-new season of Teen Mom: Family Reunion, and Celeb Secrets is getting the scoop on what to expect from it straight from your favorite OG Catelynn Baltierra.

In the season two premiere — which airs tonight at 8/7c on MTV — Teen Mom‘s iconic stars Amber Portwood, Ashley Jones, Briana DeJesus, Cheyenne Floyd, Jade Cline, Kayla Sessler, Kiaya Elliott and Maci Bookout reunite with Batlierra for a vacation like none other.

“I’m super excited about it,” Baltierra tells Celeb Secrets reporter Juliet Schroder about the new season in an interview. “I wasn’t able to be a part of the last one… I flew in, surprised the girls for a few hours, and then flew out because we just had our last baby, so I couldn’t be a part of it. So this one I was super excited to kind of like plan it and invite people, including our moms, which adds a whole different dynamic to that. Yeah, that’s for sure.

According to the network, the girls head to the woods of Oregon with some special guests — their own mothers — to take notes from nature as they prepare to examine their roots and learn to grow.

“[MTV] put me up to the task [of planning], which I was more than honored to do. I like the beach and everything, but the woods calls to me more,” Catelynn says. “I was super excited to invite our moms to add a whole different dynamic [to the show]. I’m a huge advocate for mental health and working on intergenerational trauma, so I thought this was the perfect way to do it.”

Giving the Teen Moms and their mothers time to make new friendships and build bonds, Catelynn is very excited for people to see how she and her mother get closer than ever this season. Through sessions with Coach B. and team-building exercises, viewers will see the group address their relationships by working through their past, and learning to understand complicated histories in order to create a better future for their newest generation.

“We all took something from each story and related to one another in some aspect,” she shares.

“For me there was one activity in particular that people will see that was super hard and it had to do with mud. It gave me a sense of support and it felt like a safe place to be able to open up to my mom and tell my mom things that I’ve been wanting to tell her but never felt safe enough to do so.”

Describing her experience as “super intense,” Catelynn says that it was “awesome” to see the growth between her and her mother as well as people’s willingness to change for the better.

But it’s no Teen Mom reunion without a little bit of drama, and we can confirm that the girls AND their mothers will be bringing the fireworks to the entire trip.

“We were literally having a nice dinner and things went from zero to a hundred real quick,” Catelynn says with a laugh. “I knew I had a feeling something was gonna happen because I mean, you know, I’m a mom. So I know when things happen to my kids, my claws come out.”

“I wish that we could have all handled it in a different way because I feel like we all could have come to like an understanding and just agree to disagree and move on, but people can expect a lot of emotions, tears, and drama. “There are hard things and great things — it’s all intense — but it was an amazing experience.”
