Bachelorette But Make It Therapy
With tensions running high in the mansion, ABC called in a Bachelor Nation familiar face…Nick Viall. Yes, you read that correctly – Nick Viall is back, gracing our television screens once again. Viall was a contestant on the 10th season of The Bachelorette, runner-up on the 11th season of The Bachelorette, returned again on the 3rd season of Bachelor In Paradise. After failing to find love – the regular became the next Bachelor for the 21st season of The Bachelor.
Now, Viall came to the rescue to “stop” the drama in the mansion with a clipboard in hand and to help conduct Katie’s group date. Aaron, Quartney, James, Connor B., David, Justin, Thomas, Hunter, and Brendan were all invited to partake in the first group date of the week.
The therapy-inspired date was made for the men to “air out all their dirty laundry.”
“Today’s about being truthful,” says Nick. “And sharing with Katie the things that we’re maybe not so proud of. Stories like people who have lead women on, ghosted, cheating, someone trying to be the next Bachelor,” he adds.
The men imminently started to open up, and it didn’t take long for tears to start flowing. Hunter left reality TV-goers dead in their tracks as he opened up about his failed marriage. Connor B. spoke out about his alcohol problem and how it led to him cheating on his previous girlfriend.

However, a wave of anger filled the room when Thomas stepped forward to share his feelings. He confessed that he was not involved in the journey for the “right reasons,” as he shared that he was aware of the platform that the show could offer. While coming across as VERY calculated, he mentioned that he has unexpectedly made a connection with Katie.
After the unnecessary confession that Thomas brought to the table – Katie brought it back around and shared a dark yet moving story. As we all view Katie as a sex-positive woman – leaving America speechless to hear about her incident involving sexual assault.
“I just want you guys to know that I’ve come a long way in who I was ten years ago,” says the leading lady, as she touched upon the importance of having an open dialogue before moving forward in any sexual activity. “How important consent is, how important communication is and how important it is to not guilt trip somebody for not having enough sex with them.”
She continued: “That is something really big that has happened in my life that in some ways she really shaped me into exactly who I am today. And so with you guys sharing your stories, I thought it was important to share mine as well.”
Following the heartbreaking story and learning how brave Katie is, The Bachelorette suggested resources for those who have experienced sexual assault before cutting to commercial. RAINN, Abuse and Incest National Network, were some of the provided resources that the franchised included to help viewers cope or seek assistance.
