Aven’s Hometown Date

Episode eight kicks off in Salem, Massachusetts, with Rachel meeting Aven’s parents. Even though the visit seems “cursed,” meeting his family resulted in a sigh of relief for the bachelorette.

The visit begins with Rachel reflecting on her time with Tino’s family, that it didn’t go as planned and feeling secure with her decision to send Tyler home. Despite her uneasy feelings, the bachelorette is hopeful for a better experience with Aven’s family.

The couple starts the day with a conversation about meeting the family soon. Rachel feels hesitant, knowing that Aven’s parents haven’t approved of his last two girlfriends. Aven reassures her that things will go smoothly, not wanting her to go into the evening nervous. They then go to a palm reader, and while it started great, the reading ends with a broken glass table.

Rachel then meets both of Aven’s parents, the first time his parents have been in the same room in six or seven years. The bachelorette also meets with both parents separately, as they are concerned that Aven isn’t the only one competing to become her forever.

At the end of the evening, Rachel and Aven’s parents felt positive about each other, leaving the bachelorette feeling confident about where the relationship can go with Aven as they’re both falling in love with each other.
