The Dolan Twins Break Their Two Year Social Media Hiatus with Big Announcement

The Dolan Twins are back and better than ever!

The New Jersey natives, who first made their debut on Vine and eventually rose to fame on YouTube, have returned to social media for the first time in nearly two years for an exciting announcement.

Grayson shared a post to his previously empty IG grid sharing the news that he and his twin brother Ethan have been working on a short film that’s expected to drop sometime next month.

“Hey! Wrote directed and other things’d a short film with my broest friend @ethandolan We’re very grateful to be premiering at the Hollyshorts film festival this August. Our cast and crew are the reason this film is as special as it is to us!

A very special thanks to @tamerlainesanctuary @furvivors @orphan_animals,” the post read.

Ethan, with now only three posts to his name which include a childhood throwback picture of him and his twin and *of course* a very fitting 2016 puppy-down filter selfie, took to his account to also share the milestone moment on his feed.

“I made a short film called ‘Nothing Left to Give’ with Grayson. Our incredible cast and crew made it possible. We’re very grateful to be premiering at the HollyShorts film festival this August. Have a blessed day

Most enormous thanks to

To catch you up, The Dolan Twins first made waves on the Internet from the short video sharing platform Vine, which helped launched careers of stars like Shawn Mendes, Cameron Dallas, Jack & Jack, Nash Grier and of course Ethan and Grayson Dolan (think TikTok of the early 2010s). The twin brothers then moved their content to YouTube, before creating a successful podcast Deeper with The Dolan Twins.

In 2018, Ethan and Grayson joined fellow YouTubers, Emma Chamberlain and James Charles to create the “Sister Squad,” which published over 10 YouTube videos together, which racked in anywhere between 22 million to 40 million views on each long-form video. Fans were obsessed with seeing their favorite creators collab on the Internet and share genuine friendships together. To this day, there are still dating rumors between Emma and Ethan, yet neither have ever confirmed or denied their once past status.

The friendship between the 4 ultimately broke up without any rhyme or reason that was made to the public, however, fans still stan the famous “Sister Squad” and hope they might all reunite once more.

Since the “Sister Squad,” Ethan and Grayson posted less and less on their social media accounts, eventually going “off the grid” in May 2021. The fact that the guys, now 23, have finally made their social media comeback are giving fans hope that this might be the segue for them to make their way back to YouTube and start posting again. Only time will tell, but we all sure hope they reenter their active era so we can get real-time content from our favorite Internet twins.

Let us know if you’re hyped for The Dolan Twins’ return by either leaving a reaction at the bottom of the post or by sliding into our DMs on Instagram at @celebsecrets.
