It’s been EIGHT years since the last episode of MTV’s hit reality series The Hills.
Since the 2016 reunion special hosted by star Lauren Conrad aired, hints of a revival have been circulating and last night, the rumors were put to rest. The long-awaited reboot was CONFIRMED during MTV’s live telecast of the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards with a teaser trailer for The Hills: New Beginnings.
The reunited cast, including members of the original series Laguna Beach, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler, Stephanie Pratt, and Justin Bobby made a surprise appearance on MTV’s live pre-show at New York City’s Radio Music City Hall where they teased the exciting news. Noticeably absent, however, were fan favorites and show leads Whitney Port, Lauren Conrad, and Kristin Cavallari. (Cavallari currently produces and stars in Very Cavallari on E!)
On the carpet, Spencer Pratt, show villain and leading force behind the infamous “you know what you did” shared a ‘big announcement’ was to follow.
MTV soon after the live broadcast officially announced The Hills: New Beginnings will reunite the show’s original cast members following their personal and professional lives, ten years later in Los Angeles.
With new faces and returning favorites, The Hills: New Beginnings is scheduled for a 2019 premiere.
