Vanessa Hudgens Supports Austin Butler In His Broadway Debut

This Broadway season, one of the dramas you’re going to hear a ton of buzz about is The Iceman Cometh. That’s because this Eugene O’Neill revival stars none other than the legendary Denzel Washington. But the live show is also a huge moment for 26-year-old actor Austin Butler, who is making his Broadway debut as Don Parritt in this staged production.

Last night, The Iceman Cometh celebrated its official opening night, and it gathered a huge audience and some special star supporters. Among them was Austin’s longtime girlfriend, actress Vanessa Hudgens, who couldn’t be prouder to see this sparkling moment happen.

To celebrate this milestone, Vanessa posted a loved-up picture of her and Austin hugging on the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater stage.

She didn’t wait until opening night to see the show either: Vanessa already grabbed seats in the audience and hyped the show as soon as it started previews earlier this month. You know we love a good Playbill selfie!

Of course, Vanessa is no stranger to the stage herself! The actress grew up doing musical theater, and has been performing in live productions ever since her early childhood. She made her own Broadway debut in 2015, starring (and slaying!) as the title role in the Neil Simon Theater’s production of Gigi.

We wonder if she had any experienced advice to share with Austin as he took his own opening night bow!

If you go, The Iceman Cometh is playing now through July 1, 2018 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theater, 242 W. 45th Street in New York City. You can pick up tickets at the box office, by phone, or through Telecharge.
