Watch the Magical Emily Blunt in Disney’s First Official Trailer for “Mary Poppins Returns”

Disney just dropped the first official trailer for the highly anticipated reboot Mary Poppins Returns on Monday and Emily Blunt is ready to serve up that spoonful of sugar.

Blunt is absolutely hypnotizing in the new trailer, as she suits up to play the legendary role that Julie Andrews made famous back in 1964. This sequel is set in London 25 years after the events of the original film, and finds Poppins back in town to help the next generation of the Banks children.

“What brings you here?” Michael Banks (Bon Whishaw) asks Poppins who answers, “Same thing that brought me the first time: I have come to look after the Banks children.”

Annabel Bank (Pixie Davies) asks in excitement, “Us?”

The trailer shows footage of the magical nanny bringing Michael Banks’ three children, Annabel, Georgie and John on what looks like some pretty magical adventures. It appears to serve the perfect amount of nostalgia but at the same time offers new, fun material that will make us fall in love with Mary Poppins all over again!

As she catches a floating purse and umbrella mid air, Mary Poppins proves that having a nanny can be a fun and cool adventure. The movie looks to offer what the old movie had to offer — charm, wit and laughter. Maybe. Even. More.

Directed by Rob Marshall (Into the Woods, Chicago, Pirates of the Caribbean, Annie), the film offers a star-studded cast alongside Blunt, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Angela Lansbury, Dick Van Dyke, Emily Mortimer and Julie Waters.

Mary Poppins Returns hits theaters December 19th, 2018.
