While it is Ariana Grande‘s birthday today, she’s not the one receiving gifts.

The 25-year-old pop star gave fans a snippet to the intro track for her upcoming album, sweetener, titled “Raindrops” on her Instagram page last night.

The clip shows Grande singing from an upside-down perspective, similar to her music video for “No Tears Left to Cry.” As it pans out, it shows her sitting on a never-ending staircase as she sings about raindrops and angels crying.

Her voice literally rains with purity, clarity, emotion and power, showing that fans are in for a “sweet treat” when sweetener drops on August 17th.

Grande has been through quite a bit. From losing her grandfather as well as fans at the Manchester concert, this song shows how thankful she is to not only family, but also her fans.

In addition to the snippet, the “No Tears Left to Cry” singer shared what the album is about, which makes us even more excited for it due to the powerful message.

She then responded to a fan about an old song called “Better Off,” which was originally meant for a previous project but didn’t get used, will be on sweetener this August.
