Without giving too much away, here are some of our favorite moments from Downfalls High… keep scrolling to see!
The introduction of Scarlett and her best friends
Around the beginning of the film, we are introduced to Sweeney’s character Scarlett and two of her best friends, one of which is performed by singer, Maggie Lindemann. This moment gives major Mean Girls and Clueless vibes, showing off the coolest girls in school.
Development of Fenix and Scarlet’s relationship
The way MGK and Mod Sun captured Fenix and Scarlett’s relationship is reminiscent of a classic 2000s teen film. It gives a nostalgic memory of what a high school first love feels like.
The choreographed puking scene
In MGK’s narration of “concert for aliens,” there is a choreographed puking scene and according to this tweet from MGK himself, it was his favorite performance sequence to film.

The unusual performance set it apart from the other narration scenes, making it hard to forget.
Fenix rejecting Scarlet’s best friend
After Scarlett died in a car accident, Fenix started a band, The Pink Switchblades. They performed a live gig that her best friends attended and Lindemann’s character decides to make a move on Fenix but Fenix swiftly rejects her. This subtle movement acknowledges Fenix’s true love for Scarlett and his respect for her.
Fenix’s hater becoming his biggest fan
At the beginning of the film, Fenix is tormented by someone in Scarlett’s circle. But at the end of the film, when Fenix suddenly becomes viral because of his band, his tormenter turns his attitude around and asks him for a photo when he spots him at a fast-food joint. Fenix, being fed up with him, yells at him then leaves the restaurant.
