BTS Makes History and Wins BBMA for ‘Top Social Artist’

KPOP superstars and worldwide social media artists BTS are taking the US by storm!

The band won their first BBMA in the category of Top Social Artist at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards last night (May 21) in Las Vegas. The guys beat out other nominees which included Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, and more. Bieber has previously won this award for the past six years running.

With emotion and gratitude, BTS took the stage with a heartfelt acceptance speech.

Rap Monster said in part, “ARMY – our fans, thank you very much, we still cannot believe we are standing here on this stage at the Billboard Music Awards, Oh my gosh!…most importantly, this award belongs to everybody around the world who shine their love and light on us by the billions, you make BTS proud…Please ARMY remember what we say, “Love myself, Love yourself” as his bandmates surrounded him waving to the cameras.

BTS‘ fans came and conquered as the ARMY voted for Rap Monster, Jimin, Jin, V, Jungkook, Suga, and J-Hope over 300 million times since the polls opened on May 1st. Way to go, ARMY!

BTS heads to Los Angeles today for promotion before going back on tour flying to Sydney, Australia and then on to Japan for their stadium shows. The band is planning on returning to the US in 2018 and will soon release new music worldwide.
