Our day has been made… why? Because there’s new Megan Nicole music, that’s why!
On Friday, the singer/songwriter finally gave us what we’ve all been waiting for; a new single. The track is titled “Mascara” and is available now to purchase on iTunes.
“I was sitting on my bed one night with my little keyboard messing around with song ideas when the lyric came to mind ‘I’m not gonna waste anymore mascara on you’,” Megan Nicole shares about the track “Mascara.”
“I only had this one line saved to the many notes in my phone. One day, it came to my mind again at a writing session and we ended up building the song around this thought. This song to me is about not wasting any of your tears on a person or situation that’s bringing you down. It’s that turning point when you realize ‘you’re not even worth crying over anymore’. It’s about taking back control of your life and not letting anyone dictate your happiness.”
In addition to putting the track on iTunes, Megan Nicole shared an ahh-mazing lyric video for “Mascara” on her YouTube channel which can be watched below.
“I wanted to create a lyric video different than any I’ve ever done before,” she says. “My first thought: stop motion. After two days of prep (shout out to mom for helping me paint letters, find backdrops and props), three 14 hour days of shooting, and days of editing (thanks Joey), I give you the “Mascara” lyric video.

Last but not least, it has been announced that Megan will be joining Emblem3 and Before You Exit on the North American leg of the Waking Up Tour!
