Twenty One Pilots are back and are ready to release their new album titled Scaled and Icy, which is set to release later this Spring on May 21.
The group previewed Scaled and Icy with their new pop-rock single, “Shy Away,” accompanied by a light-filled music video directed by Miles & AJ.
According to a press release, the album is described to be filled with “more imaginative and bold” songwriting and will “focus on the possibilities worth remembering.” Scaled and Icy will have a total of 11 tracks, check out the full tracklist and album art below.
It was mostly written and produced by Tyler Joseph, during the stay-at-home orders in the past year, and Josh Dun engineered the drums for the album from across the country. Scaled and Icy will be a true testament to a quarantine album.
Along with the announcement of their new album, TØP will also be taking part in their first-ever global live stream, “Twenty One Pilots – Livestream Experience,” scheduled to broadcast at 8 PM ET on the album release day. Tickets are currently available to purchase here and fans can also join in on a pre-show virtual experience to countdown the days for Scaled and Icy.
Although Twenty One Pilots released some standalone singles last year, “Level of Concern” and “Christmas Saves The Year,” this will be the group’s first album release in three years since their 2018 album, Trench, so it’s safe to say that their fans are absolutely ecstatic.
