Movie Title: God’s Own Country (2017)

While Josh O’Connor may be best known now for his turn as Prince Charles on The Crown, one of his greatest roles so far has been as a farm tender in God’s Own Country. 

In what feels like a brokeback mountain-inspired piece, Johnny (O’Connor) runs his family farm after his father Martin (Ian Hart) has a stroke. 

Gheorghe (Alec Secăreanu) is hired on to help with lambing season, and he and Johnny begin a romantic relationship while on their own. It’s equal parts dramatic and romantic, but (kind of spoiler alert) it does have a happy ending.
