Movie Title: Moonlight (2016) 

Moonlight follows Chiron (Mahershala Ali), a young black boy growing up in Miami. Shaped by the 1980’s cocaine epidemic, bullying, and family troubles – Chiron is forced to grow up and fend for himself. 

As he finds his way into adulthood, Chiron must confront his subconscious, and be honest about his feelings. He is pulled back and forth between the community he has grown up in, the person he is on the inside, and the people he wants to be intimate with. 

Moonlight won multiple awards and took home the Academy Award for 2017 “Best Picture.”
