The biggest names in music are heating up the white carpet at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards taking place for the first time at Madison Square Garden on Sunday evening (August 28) in New York City.

The official kick-off event for the VMAs, hosted by social media mogul and producer DJ Khaled, MTV2’s Uncommon Sensestar, Charlamagne Tha God, and hip hop artist, Lizzo, from MTV’s upcoming live music series, Wonderland, the 2016 VMA Pre-Show will feature performances from Alessia Cara and Troye Sivan, Jidenna, and Lukas Graham.
Many celebs and nominees walked the white carpet, including Beyoncé, Chloe x Halle, Jordan Fisher, Forever In Your Mind, Jojo, Amber Rose, Kim Kardashian, Michael Phelps, Tove Lo, Frankie J. Grande, Hailee Steinfeld, Holland Roden, Grace Helbig, Laura Marano, Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Aly Raisman, Madison Kocian, Lance Bass, Flo Rida,  Sean “Diddy†Combs, Ansel Elgort, Jimmy Fallon, Fifth Harmony, Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys, Shameik Moore, Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Jaden Smith.
The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will feature performances from Britney Spears and G-Eazy, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, The Chainsmokers and Halsey, and Nick Jonas and Ty Dolla $ign. Rihanna will also be receiving the Video Vanguard Award this evening!
