2021 Kids’ Choice Awards – Best Moments from the Show

One of our favorite events of the year — aka the Kids’ Choice Awards — has (unfortunately) come and gone, but the memories we’ll have from watching the virtual show are staying with us forever!

From the classic slimings of our favorite celebrities to a live audience via video call, here are a list of Celeb Secrets’ favorite moments from the 2021 Kids’ Choice Awards.

Let us know what your favorites were by leaving a reaction below or by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets.

Live Audience

Nickelodeon made sure that the kids and their families wouldn’t miss out on being a part of the Kids’ Choice Awards this year by having them be part of the live audience via video call! The stage behind host Kenan Thompson, was decked out in screens showing everyone celebrating the wins of the night in real time. They even awarded a lucky family one of the iconic orange blimps!

Paw Patrol Puppy Crowd

Along with the live audience, when Kim Kardashian, Tyler Perry, Yara Shahidi, and Marsai Martin took the slime stage to reveal the very first preview of their new movie, Paw Patrol: The Movie, they needed the help of some very paw-some guests to activate the teaser. They asked the live audience members to bring out their furry friends and all of a sudden each camera was filled with a bunch of pups! Who doesn’t love a good puppy moment?

Slime Moments

It’s not the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards without seeing your favorite celebrities getting covered in bright green slime! From Charli D’Amelio to Robert Downey Jr. and Liza Koshy, we’re pretty sure they had a bit of trouble getting rid of all the green goo. The KCAs even broke the Guinness World Record for most people slimed simultaneously. We’re low-key sad we weren’t able to be a part of it.

Justin Bieber’s Performance

Justin Bieber has been hyping up his two special performances and it definitely lived up to our expectations! Introduced by his beautiful wife, Hailey Bieber, he had a slime-tastic “Intentions” performance with Quavo and it was just as fun as the song itself. Then Bieber took the green-lit airport runway in true Kids’ Choice fashion and performed his other hit songs “Hold On” and “Anyone!” We had so much fun watching him take the Kids Choice stage!

KCA Producers Playing “drivers license” When Joshua Bassett Was On Stage

Was it just a coincidence or were the KCA producers having a little fun? Actor and singer Joshua Bassett and social media personality Addison Rae presented the award for Favorite Movie Actress and after announcing Millie Bobby Brown as the winner, they walked off the stage to the sound of “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo playing in the background. You gotta love a little nod to the love triangle drama!

Favorite Song Nominees Medley Performance

The KCAs have always been an iconic award show and this year was no exception! Typically award shows just read off the names of the nominees but not Nickelodeon’s. Some of the kids’ favorite actors and singers presented the nominees for favorite song by performing a medley of all the nominated songs and we thought that was so cool! We definitely wish more shows would do this.

BTS’ 3/3 Kid’s Choice Win

From all the way in South Korea, the BTS boys accepted their THREE Kids’ Choice Awards wins for Favorite Song, Music Group, and Global Music Star! Each of the members accepted their award to say thanks, while passing the blimp along to one another in their own way. Congratulations to BTS for the three blimp sweep!

Generation Change Award

And this year’s Generation Change honoree(s) are… the kids!

Jennifer Garner introduced Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, who presented the award to children watching everywhere. Harris thanked the kids of this generation for their courage and strength, especially during times like these. We know that kids are the future and they’re doing everything they can to harness their power and create change for generations to come!

iCarly Cast Reunion

5, 4, 3, 2… Get ready to hopefully hear that nostalgic intro-song again! The iCarly cast members Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress, and Jerry Trainor reunited at tonight’s show to present the award for Favorite Movie, awarded to Wonder Woman 1984, and it took us back to the first time we saw them hanging out at Carly and Spencer’s apartment. Nickelodeon announced that a reboot of the show is in the works and will premiere on Paramount+ some time this year.
