2021 SAG Awards: Everything You Need to Know Before the Big Show

May award show season continue! The 2021 SAG Awards are back and officially happening TONIGHT!

The highly anticipated star-studded event is just a few hours away and Celeb Secrets wants to prepare you for the jammed-packed evening full of cutting-edge talent, glitz, glamour, and comedy that’s beginning at 9PM ET/6PM PT on TBS and TNT.

The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is giving TV and movie enthusiasts a taste of normalcy as they host the 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards this Sunday, April 4th. However, the night will look a bit different this year, as the group is taking a new approach to grab their audience’s attention.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony will be virtual like the Golden Globes and Critics Choice, but the show will be pre-recorded and only one hour. Yes, you read that correctly! The leading organization will be cutting down the show, however, still expect to hear the 2021 winners in all 13 categories and see the iconic “I Am An Actor” introduction.

“We’re looking at trying to do a unique award ceremony in an hour and leave people saying, which they very rarely do [with an awards show], ‘Man, I wish we had more,’” producer Todd Milliner told Variety.

The “I Am An Actor” segment will include mini-speeches from performers, which will be sprinkled throughout the ceremony. Like the rest of the show, the traditional segment will be shot beforehand and edited together before Sunday, April 4.

Whether you tune in for the pre-show coverage, the fire fashion, the short and to-the-point speeches from A-list celebrities, or even the clips from state-of-the-art movies and television shows, we got you covered!
