The 49th Annual Country Music Awards are upon us!
It’s country music’s biggest night and we can’t wait to find out who’s walking away with some awards.
Of course, the night isn’t just about the awards. It’s also about the performances! The two co-hosts, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will take the stage and sing some of their hit songs, along with Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Maddie & Tae, and Kacey Musgraves.
We can’t forget about the one-of-a-kind collaborations either. Eric Church and Hank Williams, Jr. will join musical forces and perform together as well as Thomas Rhett and Fall Out Boy. Did you ever think you’d see FOB and country music together?
This might just be one of our favorite nights of the year so here are 5 reasons why we think you should tune in as well…
The 49th Annual CMA Awards airs live on Wednesday, November 4th at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
The Opening Monologue
Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood make the CMA Awards. They’ve hosted the show for eight years in a row now and each time they just get better and better. From political jokes to poking fun at T-Swift, Brad and Carrie don’t miss a beat. Plus, we can’t forget when the duo revealed the gender of Carrie’s baby on live TV! They keep the show interesting, light-hearted and fun and we can’t wait to see what they bring to the stage this year.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert
Everyone knows what I’m talking about. The awkwardness!! Country music’s golden couple split after three years of marriage earlier this year and country fans everywhere cried for days. This will be the first time that Miranda and Blake have been spotted in public within the same vicinity of each other since news of the divorce broke out. We can’t even imagine how awkward that will be for the two of them. Oh and Brad has already said he definitely plans on making jokes about the two. Poor Blake and Miranda! It will be weird not seeing the two sitting next to each other, but we have to admit we’re kind of excited to see what’s in store for them tonight.
The Performances
There’s not much to say here except that the show is pretty much all about the performances. It’s always fun to watch our favorite country singers rock it out on stage or get all deep and personal while sitting on a stool (Luke Bryan). Listening to country music for almost two and a half to three hours straight — now that’s our kind of night (pun intended).
Justin Timberlake
Yep. That’s right. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE — I repeat — JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE will take the stage tonight at the CMA Awards. We can’t. He is everything and country music is everything — it’s a perfect combination. He will be performing with Chris Stapleton and we can guarantee their duet will be on repeat for days after their performance.
The Dresses
We see some of the best dresses on the CMA Awards red carpet. The country ladies sure know how to bring it! Carrie obviously has an unfair advantage for earning best dressed since she has about 50 outfit changes throughout the show, but that doesn’t stop the other ladies from trying. We’re particularly excited to see Jana Kramer and her baby bump! We’re so excited for the mom-to-be! Oh and don’t think we forgot about the men. They are always looking mighty fine. We’re looking at you Luke Bryan.
