Jack Black, was honored with the “Comedic Genius Award” at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards last night (June 5) and it was truly an unforgettable moment.
The show honored the legendary comedian and actor by playing a montage with some of his famous roles as he was introduced by fellow comedian, Awkwafina. Black then came on stage to rounds of applause as he wore a panda hat, a nod to his film, Kung Fu Panda.
The actor then somersaulted — you heard that right — his way on-stage to receive the award!
“I need a little blast of oxygen,” Black joked before beginning his speech.
“Comedic genius? Come on are you kidding! For what?” he said.
That’s when the actor listed some of his iconic roles including School of Rock, Nacho Libre, and Jumanji, amongst many others. Black did add his “sweet dance moves on TikTok” to the list too!
Black shared, “I don’t deserve this, but I will take it! Thank you, MTV. This is for all the School of Rockers out there, and for all the Tenacious D-isciples. And most of all, my amazing wife Tanya, and our two incredible boys – I love you, I love you, I love you.”
We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of the award! What do you think of Jack Black receiving the “Comedic Genius Award” at the 2022 MTV & TV Awards?
