‘Concert for A Cause,’ A Tribute To Honor Christina Grimmie 5 Years Later

The Christina Grimmie Foundation, a charity created to honor the late singer and Youtube star Christina Grimmie, held an incredible virtual event to remember her in the most positive light.

The event, Concert for a Cause, was held on June 8, 2021, nearly five years after her passing on June 10, 2016. To remember her bubbly personality and honor her unmatched talents, the event featured performances from stars that were friends of Grimmie, including Tori Kelly and Rachel Platten.

Grimmie was a finalist on The Voice in 2014 when the judges were Adam LevineUsherShakira, and Blake Shelton. Her stunning audition had all four judges smacking their button to claim her.

Grimmie chose Levine as her vocal coach and he adored her throughout the season. Levine was very torn up by the news of her tragic death, and he paid for her entire funeral.

Concert For A Cause not only communicated the impact that Grimmie had on family, friends, fellow stars, and fans, but was also a fundraiser that supports those families and individuals impacted by gun violence.

Though her family is and will always be devastated by her death, they are constantly trying to remember her in the best ways. As her dad said in a statement, “This June marks five years since Christina was taken from us, and while we miss her immensely, we are choosing to celebrate her life by continuing her legacy of love, hope, and inspiration.”

Hosted by Hunter March of E! News’ Nightly Pop, this event is meant to bring people together in honor of the young star and bring attention to the impacts of gun violence.

This month, and every month, we honor this young star on the rise who was fatally shot during a meet-and-greet at The Plaza Live in 2016 at just 22-year-old.

Fans have gathered at The Plaza Live every year on June 10th following her death as a way to honor and remember her lively spirit.

If you attended the event, tweet us your thoughts  at @celebsecrets and don’t forget to donate to The Christina Grimmie Foundation!
