78th Annual Golden Globe Awards: Winners’ List

The winners for the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards are in!

The best in film and television were given shiny golden globes for the annual award show, which was packed with stars, surprises and more from the safety of each participant’s home. The 2021 Golden Globes were hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in both New York and Los Angeles, as Fey was live at the Rainbow Room with Poehler at The Beverly Hilton.

During this year’s show, seven-time Golden Globe winner and 15-time nominee Jane Fonda received the Cecil b. deMille Award, which recognizes a talented individual who has made a lasting impact on the film industry; and Norman Lear received the Carol Burnett Award, making him the third-ever recipient of an award that honors someone who made outstanding contributions to the television medium on or off the screen. Satchel & Jackson Lee served as this year’s Golden Globe Ambassadors, and supported the charities Callen-Lorde NYC and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America as part of their role.

After receiving a whopping 42 nominations this year, Netflix still came out strong with 10 wins across numerous categories were some of the big winners of the night, with The Crown, The Queen’s Gambit, The Trial from the Chicago 7, and The Life Ahead adding a shiny new Golden Globe to their list of accolades. Searchlight Pictures’ Nomadland won the most coveted award of the night — “Best Motion Picture – Drama.”

2021 Golden Globe Awards: Winner Predictions

In addition to celebrating the best in film and television, the telecast highlighted Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization and its COVID-19 Relief Fund, as well as CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), which is dedicated to saving lives and strengthening marginalized communities affected by or vulnerable to crisis. In appreciation of their courage and sacrifice to provide care, support, and public service for their communities throughout the pandemic, frontline and essential workers, including food bank workers, attended the event.
