Legendary actress Jamie Lee Curtis is officially an Oscar winner, as she snagged the W for “Best Supporting Actress” for her role as Deirdre Beaubeirde in Everything Everywhere All at Once at The 95th Oscars on Sunday (March 12).
The 64-year-old actress won in a category that also contained Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Angela Bassett and her Everything Everywhere All at Once costar Stephanie Hsu.
During her acceptance speech, Lee Curtis was sentimental when mentioning her parents, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, both actors. She got emotional speaking of Leigh and Curtis both being nominated for an Oscar and felt very honored to have won an award that her beloved parents were each nominated for at one point.
Everything Everywhere All at Once won seven out of the eleven awards they were nominated for this year, including “Best Picture” and “Best Original Screenplay,” making it the most-awarded film of all time.
Jamie Lee stars alongside Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan in the flick, who won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.
Aside from her notable role in this beloved film, Lee Curtis has recently been in the news for wanting a second Freak Friday movie. This all started after her Freaky Friday co-star Lindsay Lohan made her return to the acting world in Falling For Christmas, as reported here on Celeb Secrets.
Speaking of the classic Disney movie, Chad Michael Murray, who acted alongside Lee Curtis and Lohan, showed his support for his co-star before the Oscars beginning last night with a social media post.
