New Music Friday: Tate McRae, Doja Cat, Olivia Dean, and More Must-Listen Drops – September 26, 2025

It’s Friday!! Today (September 26) is full of new music that we are absolutely loving.

Tate McRae has returned with a new single, “Tit for Tat,” dropping in the middle of her Miss Possessive Arena Tour, which hits the Kia Forum in Los Angeles tonight. Fans are buzzing that the track might be a response to her recent breakup with The Kid LAROI, who earlier shared his own breakup anthem, “A Cold Play.” On the track, McRae sings, “Let’s go song for song, let’s go back to back. Let’s go tit for tat, boy, you asked for that,” hinting at a lyrical back-and-forth. Earlier this year, the pop princess scored her first No. 1 album with So Close to What.

While Tate McRae channels heartbreak into a fiery lyrical showdown, Doja Cat is taking things in a totally different direction—bringing the glitz, glam, and runway energy to her latest single, “Gorgeous,” from her fifth album Vie. The music video is a full-on fashion moment, packed with top models and playful visuals as Doja jokes about the “crime to be gorgeous.”

It kicks off with a nod to old-school beauty ads: Doja stars solo in a fake commercial for a fictional brand called Gorgeous, swiping on a bold lip before the models start strutting. The models channel ’80s glam with bold looks and runway energy, making the video a playful celebration of style and confidence.

When it came to her album cover, Doja took to Instagram to share the inspiration behind it: “The yellow parachute represents curiosity, happiness, and adventure. Flying you towards new experiences and scenes, taking a leap of faith, and holding no bounds. The tree represents life and wisdom. Giving you a sense of safety within its branches, but the pain from the fall teaches you that those scratches can be healed.”

With Doja setting the tone for bold creativity, she’s not the only one making waves this week. This week also brings exciting new projects, including Cardi B’s AM I THE DRAMA?, Rauw Alejandro’s Cosa Nuestra: Capítulo 0, Young Thug’s UY SCUTI, Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun, Mariah Carey’s Here For It All, Marcus King’s Darling Blue, Perrie’s PERRIE, and Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving

Big-name artists such as Florence + The Machine, 5 Seconds of Summer, Tame Impala, and Sexyy Red are also keeping the hits coming. PLUS, brand new collaborations from Ty Dolla $ign, Kodak Black and YG’s “SMILE BODY PRETTY FACE,” Niko Rubio and Zuri Marley’s“Ring Ring,” Sebastián Yatra, Lucho RK, Belinda, Gente De Zona’s “CANCIÓN PARA REGRESAR,” and Chance the Rapper, Do Or Die, and Twista’s “Ride” (Remix).

This week is also stacked with rising stars making their mark – like Jenna Raine, Olivia Dean, Ezra Bell, Syd, Vienna Vienna, Ruel, and The Grahams – all dropping fresh tracks.
