Il Volo Opens Up About Their “Era of Awareness” and Bringing “A Night in Italy” Back to the U.S. with New Fall 2026 Tour Dates (Exclusive)

It has been twelve years since Celeb Secrets last sat down with Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble, and to say the world has changed would be an understatement. Since we first met them as rising stars, the trio known as Il Volo has transformed into global icons, redefining the “bel canto” (beautiful singing) style for a new generation.

Coming off a whirlwind spring tour that saw them sell out theaters across the U.S. — from Denver to the iconic Rosemont Theatre in Illinois — the group isn’t slowing down. In fact, they are just getting started. The trio has officially announced they are expanding their 2026 World Tour with a string of high-profile North American dates this fall.

Reflecting on the journey from their 2012 tour with Barbra Streisand to winning the Sanremo Music Festival, the group feels they’ve entered a more mature, intentional chapter. When we asked what the secret was to staying friends and bandmates for 17 years, Piero Barone offered a perspective that felt incredibly grounded.

“We are really proud being together for 17 years, because now we are living in a world that being together is very difficult,” Piero shared with us. “The secret of being together for such a long time is just to listen to each other, respect each other, and just to be open… This is not only a music group. It’s a life relationship.”

That maturity translates directly into their music. Ignazio Boschetto described this current stage of their career as a “new era” defined by a deeper understanding of their craft. “I think it’s the era of awareness,” Ignazio noted. “Because we are more aware of who we are today, what our audience wants from us, and what we really want from us.”

2025 and 2026 have already been landmark years. They recently performed in Rome for Pope Leo XIV during the Giubileo dei Giovani (Youth Jubilee). For Gianluca Ginoble, the experience was more than just a gig; it was a career highlight that felt personal.

“It was really deep, one of our most beautiful moments in our career, to have met the Pope,” Gianluca recalled. “He knows our music. He’s a fan of our music, so that was really surprising for us… It was a very deep moment, a very spiritual awakening.”

Whether they are opening the ATP Finals in Turin or sharing the stage with legends like Andrea Bocelli, the trio remains focused on their mission: carrying the torch passed down by their idols. Ignazio explained that they see themselves as the bridge between the past and the future. “We are spreading ‘bel canto’ all over the world… it’s thanks to [Pavarotti] if we are doing what we are doing today.”

For fans who missed the spring run, the fall leg promises to be a masterclass in emotion. Kicking off November 10 in Hollywood, FL, the tour will hit major markets including Boston, Philadelphia, and a massive night at New York City’s Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden.

If you’ve never seen them live, Gianluca describes the experience in three words: “Powerful, elegant, and deep.” According to Piero, the show is designed to be immersive for the American audience.

“We understood that the dream trip of every single American person is to go to Italy once in a life,” Piero said. “And what we are doing is to let them feel for one night in Italy.”

While the guys have been on the circuit for almost two decades, their love for making music and performing live still remains as infectious as ever. As Ignazio told us with a smile, the fan passion — from South America to the States — is still “sexy” and “curious,” and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
