Calling all VKs, Auradon preps, and Wonderland residents: It is officially time to lose your minds. After months of anticipation, Descendants: Wicked Wonderland finally makes its grand premiere TODAY (July 16) on Disney Channel (and begins streaming tomorrow on Disney+)!
On Tuesday (July 14), the red carpet at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures transformed into a whimsical dreamscape for the film’s star-studded world premiere. The entire cast — including Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, Brandy, Rita Ora, and Awkwafina — showed up and showed out. But if there was one star we couldn’t wait to catch up with, it was the ultra-talented rising pop princess Liamani Segura.

We’ve been following the 17-year-old’s Disney journey closely ever since we chatted with her on the blue carpet at the 2026 AMAs in Las Vegas back in May, where she first teased her role as Pink (Red’s brand-new sister!). Naturally, stepping into a franchise that has racked up billions of lifetime views comes with its fair share of pressure.
When we caught up with Liamani at the premiere in Los Angeles this week, she admitted that joining such a beloved universe was initially daunting:
“I remember feeling a bit nervous to come into a franchise that’s so loved and so respected by so many people around the world. It’s what they grew up on,” Liamani told Celeb Secrets. “So I felt, you know, oh, wow, we have some really big shoes to fill, you know? I mean, Cameron Boyce, Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson… all of them are just so incredibly talented.”
Ultimately, the excitement completely took over.
“I felt more excited than nervous because, you know, it’s a new chapter, and this film feels so new and big and elevated. The dancing, the singing, man — you’re not gonna wanna miss it. It’s amazing!”

RITA ORA, LIAMANI SEGURA
In Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, changing the past has massive consequences. With a new villain — Maddox Hatter (Leonardo Nam)—on the loose, Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) have to team up with Red’s new sister, Pink (played by Liamani!) to save the Queen of Hearts.
Off-camera, Liamani and Kylie’s sisterly dynamic was just as sweet.
“Honestly, she’s the best,” Liamani gushed about Kylie. “I literally enjoyed every moment on set with her, and it was never a dull moment. We always had our girly combos, hitting up crafty together, and I’m so honored to be by her side.”

LIAMANI SEGURA
This highly anticipated fifth installment of the Descendants franchise explores what “happily ever after” really means for Red and Chloe following their time-traveling adventures in the 2024 hit film Descendants: The Rise of Red. Set primarily in present-day Wonderland, this sequel delves deep into the warning issued in the previous movie: there are major consequences when you alter the fabric of time.
Now that the Queen of Hearts is nice and Cinderella is safe, things seem absolutely perfect for Red and Chloe. However, little do they know that changing the past has created a dangerous new villain in Maddox Hatter. When Maddox captures the Queen of Hearts, Red and Chloe must work alongside Red’s new sister Pink, Luisa Madrigal’s son Luis, Captain Hook’s daughter Hazel, and Maddox’s son Max to save her and rescue Wonderland before it is too late.
