It’s time to head back down the rabbit hole.
Disney officially unveiled the first teaser for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, giving fans their most exciting look yet at the next installment in the wildly popular franchise — and trust us, VKs and Wonderland residents alike are going to want to buckle up.
Premiering July 16 on Disney Channel before arriving on Disney+ the following day, the new movie picks up after the events of 2024’s blockbuster hit Descendants: The Rise of Red, proving that even when fairy tales get their happy endings, there’s always another twist waiting around the corner.
And this one? It’s looking deliciously wicked.
The newly released teaser finds fan-favorite duo Red (Kylie Cantrall) and Chloe (Malia Baker) navigating the fallout of their time-traveling adventures as a brand-new threat emerges in Wonderland. While the Queen of Hearts has softened her ways and Cinderella is finally safe, the consequences of altering time are about to come crashing down on everyone.
Enter Maddox Hatter.
The former ally has transformed into the story’s newest villain, capturing the Queen of Hearts and sending Wonderland into chaos. To save the kingdom, Red and Chloe must team up with an all-new generation of heroes, including Red’s sister Pink (Liamani Segura), Luis Madrigal (Alexandro Byrd), Max Hatter (Brendon Tremblay) and Hazel Hook (Kiara Romero).
The teaser hints at shifting alliances, hidden dangers and the kind of magical mystery that has become a signature of the Descendants universe. With Wonderland serving as the primary backdrop this time around, the stakes appear bigger, stranger and more unpredictable than ever.
Adding even more excitement to the cast announcement, Disney also confirmed that acclaimed actress and comedian Awkwafina will lend her voice to Wonderland’s iconic feline troublemaker, Chessy the Cat.
For longtime fans who grew up with the franchise, Wicked Wonderland feels like the perfect next evolution of a story that has dominated youth entertainment for more than a decade. Since the original Descendants premiered in 2015, the franchise has become a global phenomenon, with its music, characters and elaborate dance numbers earning a devoted fanbase that spans multiple generations.
And according to one of the franchise’s newest stars, fans are in for something special.
While speaking exclusively with Celeb Secrets on the red carpet at the 2026 American Music Awards in Las Vegas, Liamani Segura quickly lit up when talking about her upcoming debut as Pink. Showing up and showing out in a stunning, glittery pink Fleur de Mal dress, Liamani looked every bit the pop princess.
“I have two movies coming out this summer, one being Descendants, coming out in July,” Segura shared. “We’re going on tour this fall. So it’s gonna be a crazy summer, but it’s gonna be filled with fun things, and I think the fans are gonna love to see the new characters and what we’re bringing to the franchises.”
Joining a franchise as beloved as Descendants came with its own pressures, but Segura says the cast embraced the challenge head-on.
“Honestly, it was a little nerve-wracking jumping in, only because these franchises are so loved and respected already, so I think we had really big shoes to fill,” she told us. “But I think we did a really great job, and the dancing, the music, like, it just feels so nostalgic, and I think the fans are really going to love it.”

Of course, we couldn’t let her go without demanding a little behind-the-scenes tea. It turns out, living in Wonderland means things get pretty mad when the cameras stop rolling — especially when co-star Dayton Paradis (who plays Squirmy/Squeaky Smee) is around.
“There was one time when we were literally filming and it was so late at night, and me and my costar Dayton, we would always be clowning around on set and stuff,” Liamani laughed, recalling a late-night shoot gone rogue. “And I remember there was, like, a teapot part, and he literally, like, didn’t think there was any liquid in it, and he poured it on his entire head and had to get his entire costume, like, redone! It was so hilarious.”
Descendants: Wicked Wonderland premieres July 16 on Disney Channel and begins streaming July 17 on Disney+.
