Thunder Force’s Bria Danielle Singleton Opens Up About Her Fave Memories From Behind The Scenes

Getting the chance to breakthrough in a Netflix film alongside some of Hollywood’s top talent seems like every rising star’s dream. For teen actress Bria Danielle Singleton, that statement certainly rings true to reality.

Singleton has been gracing our television screens ever since she was only eight-months-old. Although she’s no stranger when it comes to being in the spotlight, her role as young hero Emily in Thunder Force marks a key milestone as her full-length movie debut.

Not only was this a brand new realm of acting for Singleton, but she also got to play in her first movie with the support of internationally acclaimed actresses Octavia Spencer and Melissa McCarthy. It’s certainly no surprise that Singleton admits she was absolutely stoked when she found out she was cast in the action film. “First it was a lot of screaming that I got the role. Then my family and I went and celebrated,” Singleton details via email statement while reminiscing the iconic flashback.

The action dramedy follows the storyline of two childhood best friends (played by Spencer and McCarthy) who reunite to fight crime in their community. Singleton has a key role in the portrayal of the strong childhood bond among the two female leads.

To make things even more exciting, Singleton confesses she’s been a long-time fan of Spencer’s work leading up to being cast as her mini-me in the film. She dishes that Spencer is “such a strong actress and has done so many great roles, it’s hard not to fangirl over her.”

As soon as Singleton started working on the film, she was shocked to discover her friend and Fresh Off The Boat colleague Trevor Larcom would act as one of her closest peers at school named Clyde. On top of the amazing news, she realized Larcom was staying at the same hotel as her.

Singleton’s Real Superpowers

Although scientists haven’t found a way to compose a real-life superpower formula like in the plot of Thunder Force (or at least not yet), Singleton still has fun while dreaming of what it’d be like to experiment with supernatural forces. If she could only pick one power, she says she’d have to go with teleportation, because traveling anywhere at the snap of a finger obviously comes with many useful implications.

Teleportation may never truly be in Singleton’s reach, but she still manages to inspire powerful change by taking up environmental activism. She openly leads a vegetarian diet, and recently had the opportunity to share her views on animal rights at a festival with the Animal Hero Kids charity.

“It’s important to make small sacrifices because small changes can lead to big outcomes. If one person chooses to use more reusable items than paper or plastic, that person makes a huge impact and can influence others to do the same,” she advises. “Try changing things you use on a daily basis to reusable and eco-friendly products. There’s little to no difference and you will barely notice the change. That helps out the planet a lot.”

When thinking about her future as an actress, Singleton says she aspires to someday cross paths with Viola Davis. Singleton admires “the power behind her acting, there’s so much emotion in everything she does and it’s amazing.”

If given the opportunity to collaborate with Davis on any of her former or current projects, Singleton gravitates towards Suicide Squad because she’d love to portray a heroine or villainess.

To diversify her portfolio, Singleton says she’s interested in taking on a wide variety of roles and we look forward to seeing what the future has in store for her career. What kind of movies do you hope to see Singleton in next? Let us know by leaving a reaction below or tweet @celebsecrets.
