There are summer nights, and then there are LoveShackFancy summer nights.
After stepping into Malibu’s ultra-exclusive pink paradise at Stagecoach back in April, I already knew that an invitation from Malibu and LoveShackFancy was going to come with a certain level of expectation. Think pink. Think pretty. Think cocktails that look almost too cute to drink, outfits that deserve their own camera roll and an environment so perfectly curated that you briefly wonder if you accidentally walked onto the set of a fashion campaign.
Spoiler alert: I was right.
This time, however, the pink paradise had traded the California desert for Montauk, New York, landing at one of the East End’s most coveted summer destinations: The Surf Lodge.
And honestly? It may have been even more dreamy.

Last Thursday (August 6), I celebrated the opening of the Malibu x LoveShackFancy Beach Club during a private sunset cocktail party hosted by LSF founder Rebecca Hessel Cohen. Set against the waterfront during that magical golden hour when everything suddenly looks a little more romantic, the evening felt like the ultimate midsummer night’s dream — with an obligatory touch of pink.
For the weekend takeover, The Surf Lodge was transformed into a decidedly more feminine version of itself, with pink couches, cabanas, beach-inspired details and dreamy decor scattered throughout the space. The already-iconic waterfront setting provided the perfect backdrop, while the live DJ kept the energy moving as the sun dipped lower over Montauk. It was giving Hamptons socialite summer with a LoveShackFancy filter and cocktails to match.
There was something almost comically perfect about standing by the water with a Malibu cocktail in hand, surrounded by pink everything, while dressed in LoveShackFancy. If Barbie decided to spend a weekend in Montauk, this is exactly where I imagine she’d be.
But underneath all of the visual candy was something that made the experience feel especially true to both brands: the idea of embracing your most feminine, confident self and making memories with the people around you.
That is, essentially, the entire LoveShackFancy and Malibu summer fantasy in one sentence.

Of course, no LSF event is complete without the outfit — and I knew I had to dress accordingly. For the occasion, I wore the Slovenia Chiffon Lace Maxi Dress ($895), a romantic number that felt almost suspiciously made for a sunset cocktail party in Montauk.
The dress was everything I wanted from a summer evening look: feminine without feeling overly precious, romantic without trying too hard and timeless enough that I could already picture myself pulling it out of my closet years from now.
The delicate lace throughout gives the dress a vintage-inspired feel, while the V-neckline keeps it effortlessly sultry. I was obsessed with the lace trim however, the front slit was really what sold it for me, as I was able to show a subtle flash of leg while not feeling too buttoned-up.
In other words, it was very LoveShackFancy, very Montauk and very me.
As if the setting wasn’t already enough, the new LSF edit was also on display throughout the experience, including an exclusive LoveShackFancy x Malibu collaboration that brought the brands’ shared summer aesthetic into the wardrobe. The capsule, which was made of Cotton On cotton, featured a pink floral print complete with the Malibu logo across a cropped crewneck, cropped boxy T-shirt and trucker hat.
Each item from the exclusive drop practically begged to be worn on a beach day, thrown over a bikini, styled for a late-summer road trip or paired with denim for a casual night out. It really is the perfect piece of the Malibu x LSF lifestyle that you could actually take home with you (which, spoiler alert… I did).

As the evening continued, the sun began to disappear over the water, the DJ kept the party going and The Surf Lodge slowly transformed from a chic daytime hotspot into exactly what it is known for: one of the places to be on the East End when summer is in full swing.
But for one weekend, it belonged to Malibu and LoveShackFancy. And after visiting The Surf Lodge a handful of times, this night hit differently.
It could have been the golden hour light reflecting off the water or even the pink cocktail that matched my outfit. Or maybe it was simply the reminder that sometimes, being a girl means fully leaning into the things that make you happy — getting dressed up for no reason, ordering the prettiest cocktail on the menu and making a night out of being with people you love (while taking a ton of photos to remember the night, obviously).
