Anthony Evans, producer, performer, author, vocal contractor, and arranger for renowned figures in the music industry, adds to his impressive list of accomplishments with the premiere of BET+ original movie, Favorite Son Christmas, shortly following the release of his latest single “Even If.”

“It’s a holiday movie; you know that typical in the best way Christmas movie but it has some great musical performances which I had the opportunity to produce in the film and I just loved it,” Anthony tells Celeb Secrets reporter Jasmine Vazquez exclusively in a virtual interview.
Evans plays the supporting role of Royce, who is a money hungry super-producer. “It’s a heartwarming movie with some real stuff in it ’cause you know that’s what we’re all facing – real life!”
Evident in his extensive body of work encompassing a decade and a half of studio recordings, songwriting, worship leading, touring, acting, and authorship, Evans is nothing short of pure talent. This proficiency shines through as he takes on the role of producer for all the music and live performances in Favorite Son Christmas, a captivating production that continues to linger in our minds. Reflecting the resilience found in family bonds and gospel music, themes explored in the film, Evans, a vocal expert, seamlessly translates this strength into his own life.
A testament to his musical prowess is his latest single, “Even If,” serving as the lead track on the eagerly awaited full-length studio album Revive, set for release in February 2024. This track builds on the success of his 2020 album, Altared, which not only showcased Evans’ exceptional talent but also secured his second consecutive No. 1 position on the Billboard Gospel Album chart.
“It’s a song about what it means to have hope when your circumstance seems hopeless. It was written for those of us who have ever been in a scenario where your feelings have been telling you that God has forgotten about you. It was also written for those of us who need a reminder that your emotions don’t have intellect and don’t always tell you truth. Even if what we are facing seems insurmountable,” Evans shares after admitting it all stemmed from personal loss, heartache, and doubt.
Having taken a brief hiatus from his personal musical pursuits to prioritize his mental, spiritual, and personal health, Evans dedicated the past few years to vocal production for live events. His remarkable skills have positioned him to collaborate with a diverse array of music industry icons, such as Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, 2 Chainz, Tyler The Creator, Kirk Franklin, Tori Kelly, Grammy-winning, multi-platinum artist DJ Khaled and many more.
Besides his clear vocal abilities, his devotion placed him with the honor of becoming the official global ambassador for the international relief, development, and advocacy organization, Food for the Hungry on “The Reunion Tour” alongside Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, The Clark Sisters, David and Tamela Mann, and Israel Houghton.
“When I first held the kid I sponsor, I cut back on coffee; like going to Starbucks and that was the money I used to sponsor this little boy who’s now getting health, food, education, and essentials. And every time he hugs me when I visit him, I think to myself — I have to tell people about an opportunity we all have no matter what your faith background is, we all have the ability to make an impact on someone’s life who has zero opportunities, zero chances of doing anything outside their world because opportunity is not even a word they know,” said the passionate entrepreneur.
