Harry Styles just gave fans another reason to wish they could bottle up a single night forever.
The superstar took over London’s Royal Festival Hall for a sold-out, one-night-only orchestral performance as part of his curation of Meltdown Festival 2026 last night (June 16), joining forces with the Jules Buckley Orchestra and House Gospel Choir for a very special reimagining of songs from across his career.
The performance, created exclusively for Styles’ Meltdown takeover, saw the singer-songwriter revisit fan favorites and newer material with newly commissioned arrangements by acclaimed conductor and composer Jules Buckley. Styles performed throughout the evening on both piano and guitar, backed by a full orchestra and the House Gospel Choir.
And yes, the setlist was very Harry-coded.
Opening with “Boyfriends,” Styles moved through a career-spanning collection that included beloved tracks like “Matilda,” “Two Ghosts” and “Fine Line,” before bringing newer songs from his latest album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally., into the orchestral mix with “Paint by Numbers,” “The Waiting Game,” “Carla’s Song” and “Coming Up Roses.”
The 13-song set also featured orchestral pieces including “Matter Red,” “Hummingbird” and “Hommage,” along with Patrick Watson’s “Here Comes the River.”
But the biggest emotional moment of the night came at the very end. Styles, the orchestra and House Gospel Choir joined forces for a moving rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” bringing the sold-out show to a dramatic close and earning a prolonged standing ovation from the 2,700-capacity Royal Festival Hall audience.
The collaboration was particularly fitting for Styles, who has spoken about his love of orchestral and classical music and his admiration for Buckley. The singer said that meeting the conductor immediately made him feel welcomed into the orchestral world — making the performance an especially full-circle moment during his Meltdown curation.
Beyond giving fans a seriously unforgettable night, the concert also served as a major fundraiser supporting the Southbank Centre’s charitable work with young people, artists and communities across the UK as the organization celebrates its 75th anniversary.
Styles’ Meltdown curation transforms the Southbank Centre’s 11-acre site with music, performances, conversations and free events, continuing a festival legacy that has previously welcomed curators including David Bowie, Patti Smith, Grace Jones, Nile Rodgers, Chaka Khan and Little Simz.
And while Harry Styles has never exactly needed an excuse to make a performance feel like an event, bringing his catalog to life with a full orchestra and gospel choir? Yeah, we’re going to be thinking about that one for a while.
