A Thousand Horses’ New Album “Broken Heartland” is Extremely Authentic and ‘Through and Through’ (Exclusive)

After much anticipation, country-rock group A Thousand Horses have finally released their first full-length project under their new independent label Highway Sound Records today (August 26).

The triumphant 10-track album, titled Broken Heartlandstays true to the band’s country-rock sound that members Michael Hobby, Bill Satcher, Zach Brown and Graham Deloach are known for.

In an exclusive interview with Celeb Secrets, Michael Hobby told our reporter Melanie Rooten that Broken Heartland is “through and through A Thousand Horses,” despite a few surprises.

While Zach Brown said that the band “kind of experimented with different instrumentation on this record,” Hobby reinforced that Broken Heartland stays true to the band’s distinct and iconic style: “I don’t know if we could try to do anything else… how I sing is how I sing, and how Zach plays and Graham plays, and how we write and build… that’s what it is!”

While the band’s signature sound is evident on each track, there’s something on there that can appeal to a wide range of fans. While speaking with the band, each member shared their favorite song on Broken Heartland, and surprisingly every one was different. Hobby likes “Starting Fires,” Satcher likes both “Define Me” and “Another Mile,” Brown likes “When I Hear Your Name” and Deloach likes “Every Time You Love Me.”

And even though each band member prefers different songs, A Thousand Horses puts their heart and soul into each and every track. According to Bill Satcher, “When we bring songs to each other and meet and we discuss and we get together and start playing them, thats when they really become A Thousand Horses songs… No matter who is bringing songs to the table or what, we are collaborating on them together.”

With the release of Broken Heartland officially behind them, A Thousand Horses has shifted their focus to putting on their annual Southern Wilds Festival in Lawrenceville, Georgia this September, along with even more music and performances in the near future. As Satcher told Celeb Secrets, “[A Thousand Horses] is really geling as a band right now, and with all this new music coming, I think better than [they] ever have… and [they’re] playing better than [they] ever have and [they’re] writing better than [they] ever have.”
