Adelaine Morin has dropped her first single of 2021 and it’s giving us the heartbreaker, independent girl realness that we absolutely love.
In songs, we always see artists tackling either the honeymoon or the falling out of love phases of relationships. In “chase,” however, the Toronto-native sings about leaving someone wanting more and never truly committing to a relationship with that person because the chase is always the best part.
With smooth and chilling beats and an almost psychedelic song production, “chase” reminds us a bit of Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings,” which Adelaine gives a nod to with the lyric “Yeah, I got my eye set on success, got that 7 rings feeling alone in my bed.”
In one of the social media influencer’s recent vlogs (January 26), she mentions some similarities between one of her new songs and her friend’s, Meg DeAngelis. Adelaine says that while Meg’s song is about someone leaving them, Adelaine’s song is “kind of about leaving someone.”

So now we wonder… was Adelaine talking about “chase,” or do we have more of her music to look forward to? Either way, we’re excited and will definitely be adding this to my “bad b*tch vibes” playlist.
