Christmas came early for Adele fans, as the singer debuted a preview of her song “Hold On” from her upcoming album 30.
The track was used for Amazon’s latest Christmas ad released yesterday (November 8), giving fans a hint at what they can expect from the new song.
In the ad, Adele can be heard singing, “I swear to God I’m such a mess, the harder I try I regret/ Every day feels like the road I’m on, might just open up and swallow me whole. Let time be patient / Let pain be gracious / Just hold on, just hold on / I will survive.”
The piano-ballad song plays through the ad as Amazon brings the message of kindness to life. The ad follows a young adult struggling with anxiety, in the video, a voiceover on an older women’s tv states that cases of anxiety in young adults are rising because of the pandemic. The video ends with the older woman lending a helping hand to the young adult, and then it fades to a message that reads “Kindness. The greatest gift.”
