“Cry Over Boys” has a soft pop melody as Alexander 23 sings about someone who cries over someone they “haven’t even met in real life.” He pleads to them wondering if they’re ever gonna learn through a stunning harmonious bridge.

The track is making its way to becoming viral on TikTok, as users post their reactions to the lyrics as well as edits with celebrities they haven’t met in real life, but still cry over. Apple Music also featured the song on their New Music Daily playlist.
Along with the song release, Alexander 23 uploaded a music video for the track. The music video was directed by Stefan Kohli, and Kohli’s color palette and video direction for the song feels as if you’re watching a coming-of-age indie film.
