Alexis Lynn is back with a new single and it just may be her best one yet.
Set to release tomorrow with an exclusive first listen on Celeb Secrets, the 20-year-old Canadian singer’s song — titled “Lobby” — features rising hip-hop artist Malaynah and according to Lynn, is “a quirky pop/hip-hop track that is weird in the best way.”
“The funniest thing about the song is the day we wrote it, we all went into the studio only to realize it was double booked, so we sat in the actual lobby of the building with my producer’s laptop, and sang the demo into the built-in-mic on the laptop,” Alexis tells Celeb Secrets. “And that’s how ‘Lobby’ was born!”
“Lobby” is a taste off the singer’s debut EP Things Get Good, which will be released on Friday, September 27th. It joins her previously released singles, which include the unabashed sensual number “Worst Behavior,” the reggae-infused burner “Things Get Good,” as well as the powerfully defiant anthem “Not This Time” released earlier this year.
“I’m so incredibly excited and nervous at the same time for the EP,” Lynn shares. “I feel like
I’ve had a lot to say over the past few years and a lot of it comes out on the EP. It’s pretty
personal for me which is one of the things I love so much about music, but it can also be really
nerve wracking to share such an intimate part of yourself with the internet/world. I’m just so
proud of the body of work and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
