Ally Barron Releases Self-Love Anthem “Read it and Weep” (Listen)

Ally Barron has released another empowering, dance-pop hit, “Read It and Weep” and we can’t get enough of it!

The song, reveling in self love and the releasing of toxic energy, is a powerful anthem of assertive self respect that everyone needs to hear.

“‘Read It and Weep’ is a song that empowers independence and self-growth and it’s a song that heavily speaks to me after being through some tough relationships,” shares Barron. “I hope people take away that it’s okay to be lonely and uncomfortable because sometimes the best parts of life come from that. Surround yourself with amazing friends and live out your best single youthful years–Life is too short to be surrounded by toxicity.”

Barron’s mesmerizing vocals are echoed by airy layers beneath, perfectly contributing to the overall vibe and message. Barron’s sound is similar to that of Dua Lipa and Alessia Cara. She embodies a special kind of a feminine pop strength having the ability to create a dance-pop hit that’s also filled with depth.

This song is full of influential one liners like, “I give myself all that I need, my exes can read it and weep,” and, “don’t need somebody to love cause I’m on my own and that is enough.” These lyrics alongside the booming beat of the chorus are sure to keep this compelling message stuck in your head.

For those who don’t know, Barron got her start in the industry by posting covers of pop songs in high school. She quickly gained traction and independently gathered 30 million streams and 4 million views. In her senior year, she was casted by AwesomenessTV to star as a lead in their show Malibu Surf. While on the show she recorded many songs for the series including “Just Friends” and “Start Again.” She also starred in the Malibu Surf spinoff, City Girls, and released “Moving On” for the show. Amidst her screen time, she released her solo debut single “D T M” and continued to gain a strong following. Malibu Surf closed production due to the global pandemic, but it ultimately allowed her to focus on her true passion of pursuing her music.

Barron shares her true goal for her music stating, “I want to reach everybody with my
music and be a role model for girls of all ages.” She leaves off with, “We’re all growing
up and going through these issues of boys, being your own woman, and different stages of life. I want to be there for those girls, if they need someone to talk to.”
