NASCAR‘s Busch Light Clash is headed to Los Angeles this weekend and here’s what you need to know about it.
The race will have its first appearance in the Memorial Coliseum on Sunday (February 6) and will air on FOX beginning at 6PM ET/3PM PT. Known as the historic venue for hosting football games and Olympiads, the Coliseum’s field has turned into a racetrack for the very first time. Tickets range from $65 to $145 and can be purchased here.
According to Daily Mail, this is the first time the race isn’t taking place at the iconic Daytona International Speedway in Florida. It is the preseason exhibition. Although no NASCAR points are added, the Clash offers $2 million. Compared to this year’s temporary asphalt track being a quarter-mile, the Daytona’s track is 2.5 miles.
The racecars are already at the Coliseum and performed a practice round earlier this morning, February 5. Due to the tracks limited space compared to Daytona 500, about 23 racecars are allowed to safely race. Last year’s NASCAR standings will determine what car made it to the end which determines if the non-qualifiers have the highest standings compared to last season. From 36-entries, and 23 being limited on the tracks, 13 will be sent home.

Beginning today, a “Fan Fest” will take over the grounds, where fans can enjoy music by a live DJ during caution flags, meet celebrity guests, and take a lunch break at the food trucks featuring “Taco Torch at the Clash.”
The NASCAR Cup Series driver Daniel Suarez, who is represented by Pitbull, will be amongst the special guest appearances in the Fan Fest and Sunday’s race. The Mexican driver represents the Trackhouse Racing in the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. He made his debut last year on the Daytona 500 tracks.

To kick off race day, former Fifth Harmony band member and “Por Ti” singer Ally Brooke will kick off the race with her own rendition of the National Anthem. Pitbull — better known as Mr. Worldwide — will perform a pre-race concert. He is the co-owner of Trackhouse Racing and will perform beginning at 2PM PT. During the Lap 75 race break, Ice Cube will hit the track for an unforgettable performance before NASCAR crowns its newest winner.
