Snoop Dogg is headed to the VMAs!
The entertainment icon and GRAMMY® and VMA Award-winner is set to host the 2026 MTV VMAs in Los Angeles later this month, MTV and CBS revealed earlier today (September 10).
Snoop is no stranger to the big show, as the rapper is a 13-time “VMAs” nominee, having won three awards. His previous milestone moments on the “VMAs” stage include a first-of-its-kind performance with Eminem inspired by the world of the Otherside metaverse (2022), a tribute to the Notorious B.I.G. (2005), closing the show with Dr. Dre and Eminem (1999) and his main stage debut in 1994.
“MTV and the VMAs have been part of my story since the beginning,” said Snoop Dogg in a statement. “Some of the biggest moments of my career happened on that stage and on MTV – they gave hip hop a place to be loud, fearless and seen by the whole world. So to come back now and host the VMAs, all these years later, that’s a full-circle moment for me. And doing it with my brother Van Toffler makes it even more special. Van was there during those early MTV days when we were changing the culture in real time, and we’ve got a whole lot of history together. Now we get to make some new history. The VMAs have always been about those moments you don’t forget – and trust me, we’re gonna give y’all a few more. See you at the VMAs.”
Snoop Dogg joins the growing list of celebrities, artists and nominees that are set to make appearances at the big show, which recently added Nirvana as Video Vanguard Recipients earlier in the week.

Last month, MTV revealed the nominees across 19-gender-neutral categories, and to no surprise, Madonna leads the pack with a whopping eleven nominations at this year’s show, where she will be looking to add to her 19 VMAs wins with nominations in Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and more.
Fans can vote for their favorites by visiting vote.mtv.com thru Sept. 25 at 6:00 PM, ET, except Best New Artist, presented by The General Insurance®, which remains active into show. Additionally, fans can get double the votes per category every day during Power Hour presented by BACARDÍ® Rum, running daily 1-2PM ET from August 20 through September 24.
The 2026 MTV VMAs air LIVE from Los Angeles for the first time since 2017 on Sunday, September 27th @ 8PM ET/5PM PT on the CBS Television Network, simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ (Premium) in the U.S.
