Whether it’s acting, singing, modeling or content creation, the North Star Boys are taking the world by storm!
Since coming together in August of 2021, Oliver Moy, Sebastian Moy, Justin Phan, Ryan Nguyen, Kane Ratan, Darren Liang and Regie Macalino have amassed millions of followers across various social media platforms. With big plans in store, It’s clear that 2023 will be another VERY successful year for the content group, and they are only gonna get bigger and better from here!
In an exclusive interview with Celeb Secrets this summer, the North Star Boys told us what they’re all about, including their initial group formation, rising music career, plans for the future and more.
“[It all started with] a dream to create the very first Asian American content group with my brother Oliver,” co-founder Sebastian Moy tells Celeb Secrets.
“We connected with all of these amazing people and these are our best friends, so we all just came together to start this project and this group… It has been the time of our life.”
It’s no surprise that the North Star Boys have been having the time of their lives! The group has been consistently creating content for their fans, whether that be making music, putting on live performances, hosting meet and greets, creating engaging YouTube/TikTok videos, connecting with stars like VXON, Patrick Starrr, Chase Winovich and more.
“We do everything from music, from acting, from modeling, from content creation,” co-founder and leader Oliver revealed. “We do so much more than, you know, what you guys know a content house is. We are a family. We are a group of best friends, and that’s simply just what it is.”
Something that makes the North Star Boys stand out from other content groups is that they do EVERYTHING for their fans.
The group’s official mission statement is “to bring together and cultivate the most influential, creative, and impactful Asian American creators in order to reach our shared destination; The North Star: our Fans,” and it’s clear that the North Star Boys do exactly that.
“I will say that makes us stand out is that we have a true passion and genuine care for our fans and supporters, and that’s what really stands out to a lot of people because everything we do, we do it for our supporters,” Sebastian expressed to us.
His brother Oliver confirmed this statement and said, “We don’t even look at them like followers. They’re more like our best friends,” proving that the relationship that the North Star Boys have with their fans is truly like no other.
The group makes a HUGE effort to interact with their supporters too, as they’ve hosted meet and greets all around the United States, and even reaching the Philippines.
One meet and greet even was said to “accidentally shut down” Times Square in New York City!
When speaking on the experience, Regie revealed, “It was definitely crazy. Never experienced that in my life before… I took off my shirt in front of like 15,000 people and everyone went crazy.”
It is clear that connecting with their fans, who the North Star Boys refer to as their “stars,” is the group’s number one priority, as they are always going the extra mile to show their appreciation. “I just like making people happy and being able to make content and doing things that other people laugh at, smile and enjoy,” Kane shared with a smile.
While the North Star Boys make all kinds of content, 2023 is sure to be filled with brand new music from the group. After releasing “you are my star” and “SUNSHINE” in 2022, some of the “152 songs [they recorded] in the past two years” may make it out of the vault.
“I’ve been making music for a couple years now. It’s my passion. It’s what I like to do on my free time,” Oliver revealed to us. “I never really planned on releasing music. It was just more of like a hobby, something I did on my downtime, but then I was like talking to everyone here, and we all have similar dreams and passions as well, with one of them being music.”
“We enjoy doing it, so might as well release it to the stars who give us endless support and endless love. So let’s share that same emotion back to those who support us,” he continued.
When chatting about their goals for 2023, Oliver ended the interview in the most wholesome way, sharing a hug with his fellow group members and saying “I wanna make the best memories with you guys.”
