While we love to see our go-to brands showcase their new collections on the runway, one of our favorite things about New York Fashion Week is to discover new and emerging designers to add to our list of favorites and fashion inspiration. Style Fashion Week did just that for us, and Celeb Secrets editor-in-chief Juliet and reporter Ali are here to tell you all about it.
For those of you who don’t know, Style Fashion Week has been supporting established, emerging and international designers during NYFW since their beginnings in 2011. On Thursday evening (February 8), SFW did something they’ve never done before — they partnered with Papertrail Magazine in effort to support the increasingly popular streetwear culture!
Held at the swanky Cipriani on 42nd on the East Side of Manhattan, we were able to see young brands and designers, often the inspiration behind luxury giants, make a rare appearance on the New York Fashion Week runway. SFW helped out brands like Dertbag, Shay Kawaii, H33M, and Chicago Playground and shared the cost of these major productions — providing them the platform to display their work on the same level as their luxury competitors!

In between shows, we enjoyed Notorious Pink Rosé while mingling in the expansive art market, featuring artwork by Derek Gores, Adam Thompson, UnCutt Art and works from LUMAS Gallery. We also scored some cosmetic gifts from Onsen and listened to music from upcoming artists Jae Hall, Amanda Holley, Chris Stylez, and Arielle and Vyse — it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience!
We had an absolute blast seeing all of the trendiest looks from the “underground” fashion scene. We were not only inspired style wise, but also work ethic wise, as some of the designers were as young as twenty one years old! It really showed us that you can achieve your dreams if you work hard, just like we do here at Celeb Secrets (learn more about our story here).
