The queen of Big Air has done it again!
Under the electric lights at X Games Aspen 2025, Austrian snowboarder Anna Gasser proved age is just a number, stomping a Cab triple cork 1260 truckdriver grab to claim her fourth career gold medal in the Women’s Pacifico Snowboard Big Air competition on Thursday night (January 23).
Not only did she outshine a stacked lineup of rising stars, but she also broke Barrett Christy’s legendary record for the most gold medals in Big Air. Talk about GOAT status!
After securing gold, an emotional Gasser told Celeb Secrets, “It feels unbelievable. I’m so happy. The level of women’s snowboarding is so high right now, and I knew I had to bring my A-game today. I’m the oldest competitor by far, so I didn’t know if it was still possible to get a gold medal. But yeah, I’m beyond happy that it worked out tonight.”

The Women’s Big Air final was one of the most intense in X Games history, with only one point separating first and second place. The field of eight was stacked, and when it came down to the final four-person showdown, the progression was insane. 1440s were practically mandatory to land on the podium.
Gasser battled against Reira Iwabuchi (JPN), Zoi Sadowski-Synnott (NZL), and Mia Brookes (GBR) —all part of the new wave of ultra-progressive snowboarders. Iwabuchi stomped a double tail grab 1440 to secure silver, while Sadowski-Synnott rounded out the podium with bronze.
But it was Gasser’s precision, amplitude, and clutch execution that sealed the deal.
“I don’t know… there were many before me, and also the young ones coming now,” she reflected. “I think the future of snowboarding is in good hands. But yeah, I’m honored to be part of it. I hope I’ve inspired some of the young women for sure.”

It wasn’t just the competition bringing chills—it was freezing in Aspen. The riders faced icy conditions and delays, but nothing could slow Gasser down.
“It was very cold, and we had to wait a little bit,” she revealed to us. “But when you’re in the zone and you have adrenaline, you don’t feel the cold. I even took off my jacket to get a little bit more speed. You power through.”
And powering through is exactly what she did. Despite the harsh temps, Gasser focused on delivering a show-stopping performance—not just for the judges, but for the fans and her fellow riders.
“We have a really tight community,” she shared. “We’re all friends with each other, helping each other out. I also would have been happy if one of the other girls won tonight, as long as we did a good show for the people and showed snowboarding off well.”
Even after making history, Gasser isn’t slowing down just yet. Aside from trying to snag another medal in Slopstyle later today (January 24), she’s got another massive goal on her horizon — one final Olympic run before she hangs up her snowboard for good.
“There’s still Slopestyle, so there’s one big event to come,” she said. “Otherwise, it’s an Olympic qualifying year, and I really wanna do one more Olympics — that’s gonna be my last big one before I retire. So yeah, trying to qualify for the Olympics and then hopefully next year be in Milan.”
With one more Olympic dream in her sights and a legacy that will inspire generations to come, there’s no doubt that Anna Gasser is a snowboarding legend.
