Ashley Brinton Opens Up About Filming “Good Mawnin’ Music Video in the Middle of Sirocco

Leave it to Ashley Brinton to make the impossible, possible!

The 18-year-old pop singer jetted to Sirocco to film the music video for her new single “Good Mawnin'” back in September and Bravo’s Below Deck Mediterranean’s cameras captured some of the craziest behind-the-scenes moments.

With her family in tow in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, Brinton danced around a rocky yacht to the song that she says is a “new vibe” for her.

“[Good Mawnin] is a really chill song that’s kind of a new vibe for me so I’m so excited to release it,” Brinton told CS exclusively at the world premiere of Starz’s Now Apocalypse in Hollywood earlier this year.

We sat down with Ashley recently to hear all about her crazy experience filming on the yacht, as well as her favorite memories from being on the show. Take a read at the full Q&A below.

Celeb Secrets: We saw you jump right in and start shooting the video… were there any challenges you encountered shooting a video on the yacht rather than a normal setting?

Ashley Brinton: “It was super fun but there were challenges. The wind for one kept blowing my hair around like crazy. The sun beating down on us was intense. Then the boat moving was crazy for any dance moves. Hard to keep your balance when the boat was cruising.”

Celeb Secrets: What was it like being on the Sirocco and shooting the first ever music video?

Ashley Brinton: “Sirocco was dope. It was so big you could get lost. Shooting the video was amazing because there were so many places on board to film.”

Celeb Secrets: What was the crew like? Who was the most helpful and how did they help?

Ashley Brinton: “All of the crew was amazing. Hannah and Aesha were super helpful. Love them. All the guys were so good with all the toys we filmed with and jumping through hoops for me. Joao and Collin super cool and helpful. Jack was super cool but not as hard of a worker.”

Celeb Secrets: Is the food really as good as it looks?

Ashley Brinton: “The food was amazing. So glad we had Anastasia as a chef. We had no idea that she wasn’t the chef for the other charters!”

Celeb Secrets: Any crazy stories or anything that happened that we didn’t get to see on the show?

Ashley Brinton: “So many crazy stories. Watch next week’s episode because I don’t want to give anything away!”

Celeb Secrets: Walk us through a typical day on the Below Deck Med charter.

Ashley Brinton: “Well my day wasn’t typical because I was working filming the music video. My brother, Dr. Dane’s typical day was to eat amazing food and drink a lot!”

Celeb Secrets: Did you have any free time in between shooting the music video and being on the yacht?

Ashley Brinton: “There wasn’t much free time but I didn’t mind. My free time was spent eating those amazing meals Anastasia cooked.”

Celeb Secrets: What would you say was the most challenging part for the crew of shooting the video?

Ashley Brinton: “The weather was the most challenging part because the yacht had to keep moving and I needed all the toys for the video shoot. Poor jack wasn’t happy about putting up and taking down the slide.”

Celeb Secrets: Do you keep in touch with any of the crew still?

Ashley Brinton: “I do keep in touch with the crew. We are all super busy but we try. Hannah, Aesha and Anastasia are awesome.

Celeb Secrets: Anything else to share about your experience?

Ashley Brinton: “This was one of the craziest experiences ever because literally all hands were on deck to accomplish this music video. I felt so blessed that the crew were so enthusiastic to take part in this and get involved. Everyone put in their 100% and I am humbled to have had this experience!”
