Throughout the past few weeks, Bachelor Nation thought JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers were away in Mexico filming the new season of Bachelor In Paradise, but boy we were so wrong!
Instead, ABC’s The Bachelorette couple has been working on a secret project with the TBS network. The dynamic duo is set to host the 10-hour dating competition series called The Big D.
From the creators of BH1’s Dating Naked and MTV’s Are You the One? the series follows recent divorcees as they head to paradise to find love – but there’s a massive twist. Their exes will be along for the journey.
“Watching other people’s relationships and rooting for old romances and new couples is addictive,” says Brett Weitz, General Manager for TNT, TBS, and truTV. The Big D is another attention-grabbing, bold creation in our growing unscripted portfolio.”
The upcoming juicy series will follow 10 divorced couples as they head to paradise to “re-learn how to date while looking for love with the other contestants,” according to TBS.
Everyone on the show will be staying in a beautiful tropical villa in Costa Rica together to participate in the strategic, yet insane social experiment.
“The group takes part in revealing relationship EX-ercises designed to help the singles from connections, make peace with their former partners, and finally get over the issues holding them back from dating,” says TBS in a statement. “Each episode, one person who isn’t relationship material will be eliminated. Jealous exes may try to send their rival home or perhaps even defend their exes’ honor – the possibilities are endless.”
To help guide the hopeless romantics in the right direction, Fletcher and Rodgers will be stepping in to assist, as they are pros when it comes to navigating their feelings and finding love on national TV.
The two got engaged on Season 12 of ABC’s The Bachelorette in 2016. Since then, Jojo and Jordan have been side by side conquering the TV hosting world. You may even recognize them from the hit home renovation show Cash Pad on CNBC. While Fletcher may be busy with this new reality TV show, she still plans to remain part of The Bachelor franchise.
“After a year full of challenges, the opportunity to join forces with TBS and help people find love was a no–brainer,” said Fletcher and Rodgers in a statement. “We’re excited to go on this adventure in paradise with romantic hopefuls as they step out of their comfort zones and face unconventional dating scenarios in hopes of finding new love.”
The Big D is produced by Lighthearted Entertainment with Rob LaPlante, Jeff Spangler, and Kevin Lee as executive producers.
