Big Time Rush Proves That Boy Bands Are Alive and Well in 2023 with Show-Stopping “Can’t Get Enough Tour” (Review)

Exactly one year after selling out their biggest U.S. show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Big Time Rush returned to the east coast for yet another at-capacity crowd in Holmdel, NJ during their Can’t Get Enough Tour on Friday (June 30).

With openers like MAX and New Jersey native Jax setting the bar high by playing some of their most viral and chart-topping hits, Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega delivered an unforgettable evening filled with high energy, nostalgia and good vibes to start the long holiday weekend.

Building anticipation from the second the lights were dimmed, Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos kicked off their 90-minute show with their new single “Can’t Get Enough” off their fourth studio album Another Life, which dropped earlier this summer (June 2), before performing “Elevate” for the first time live in over a decade which we were high-key living for.

Slowing things down for a string of acoustic songs, Big Time Rush then showed their vocal capabilities and harmonizing range by stepping down songs like “All Over Again,” “Any Kind Of Guy” and “Ask You Tonight.” A true staple in all BTR shows since its release, Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos went out into the crowd to choose their “Worldwide Girls” to help them sing the romantic yet classic song. Continuing to always put their fans — aka “Rushers” — first, the guys made sure to perform fan favorites like “Paralyzed,” “Nothing Even Matters” and “Shot In The Dark” before belting out to a medley filled of nostalgia with “Famous,” “City Is Ours,” “24/Seven” and “Big Night.”

While it may have been over an hour into the Can’t Get Enough Tour, the energy, hits and dances did not stop. The PNC Bank Arts Center was filled with confetti for the guys’ dancey 2013 hit “Confetti Falling” before bringing it back to where it all began with the series’ theme song “Big Time Rush.” Returning to the stage for an unforgettable encore, BTR made sure to cover all of their biggest bops like “Windows Down” and “Boyfriend” before wrapping things up with the feel-good classic “Til I Forget About You.”

After taking their final bows to a roaring crowd begging for more, the Celeb Secrets gals can confirm that the Can’t Get Enough Tour is by far the guys’ best live show of their career to date. Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos prove to the world that boy bands are alive and well in 2023 with their latest tour, as the seasoned entertainers perfectly executed choreography while both harmonizing and engaging with their fanbase of all ages. It would be hard to believe from an outside point of view that some of the songs Kendall, James, Logan and Carlos sang on Friday were released nearly 14 years ago as the energy and excitement for fans to sing the lyrics back to their favorite band was almost identical (if not more) than what it was back in the early 2010s. Long live BTR!
