Big Time Rush To Be Honored with National Holiday, “Big Time Rush Day” on April 4

THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

Big Time Rush Day (April 4) is approaching.

“It’s the only life ya got, so ya gotta live it big time,” as said by one of our undeniably favorite boy bands; and facts are facts — they had that right!

The adored boy band, which consists of members Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos PenaVega, are undoubtedly living big as it was revealed today (March 31) that on April 4 they will be recognized with their own national Big Time Rush Day.

The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center will host the formal proclamation from Emily Larson, the Mayor of Duluth, Minnesota, declaring April 4 a national holiday every year. As BTR fans, or otherwise known as “Rushers,” are well familiar with — Duluth has a particular significance to the band members as it is the hometown of the group that originated from the popular Nickelodeon series, Big Time Rush.

In addition to the official proclamation of Big Time Rush Day, there will also be a ceremonial street re-named for the day by the Mayor of Duluth.

To commemorate the honor, the group also revealed that their eagerly awaited new album — after a 10-year hiatus — will be released on June 9, just in time for their forthcoming tour.
