Two years ago, Billie Eilish appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where the host quizzed her about 1980s pop culture. Eilish’s joking answers to the questions quickly started to receive attention over social media.
Flash forward to 2021, the now 19-year-old “Happier Than Ever” singer came back to the show to promote her new album, and song “No Time To Die” featured in the new Bond movie. After Kimmel asked her a few questions, Eilish took her chance to bring up the old drama.
“Wait, really quick — do you remember last time I was here and you made me look a little stupid?” Eilish asked. “I thought it was funny because I was playing along, and everybody thought I was actually serious and didn’t know anything.”
Kimmel realized what she was talking about, and explained to her that he didn’t intend to make her look stupid on purpose. Eilish laughed and told the host that she didn’t really care about all the reactions, and to get back at him the “Lost Cause” singer flipped the tables, and gave the 53-year-old host his own pop culture quiz.
“Mommy? Sorry, sorry. Mommy?” Eilish said in a reference to a recently viral TikTok meme. Kimmel laughed it off and replied, “I don’t know anything.”
Although the award-winning artist seemed happy with her revenge, Kimmel gave her a few more chances to get back at him when he brought out her bucket list she made when she was 12 (which is featured in her self-titled book). When talking about the list and when it was made Kimmel messed up her age, Eilish was unbothered by the mistake, but took the chance to take another dig at the host.
“Think about that, Jimmy,” she said. “How old were you in 2014?” He responded, “So old I can’t even add it up.”
During the end of the segment Kimmel decided to bring some of Eilish’s dreams to life by completing items on her bucket list, which included “punch someone.”
“I think you should punch me, because I’m probably the strongest person here,” Kimmel said.
Finally finishing her revenge plan, Eilish accepted his offer and took a hit at his chest which he took pretty well.
