Billie Eilish has gone platinum blonde and everyone (including us) on the Internet is losing their minds about it.
Billie has rocked her iconic neon green and black hair for as long as we can remember — she even won a Grammy with it on Sunday (March 14). But on Wednesday, Eilish set the Internet up in flames after she posted a photo on Instagram rocking her new platinum blonde look.
The photo now has over 18 million likes and broke Instagram’s record as the quickest photo to garner a million likes — she did it in only 6 minutes — dethroning Selena Gomez who previously held that title.

Now, you’re probably wondering why everyone is making something as simple as hair, such a big deal. Well, would you be shocked if we told you that for the past two months, Billie has been wearing a wig of her neon green and black hairdo?
Yeah, you read that right. We’ve been bamboozled, or at least everyone who isn’t a super fan of hers.
While her fans have been anticipating a change from the 6-time Grammy winner in hopes of getting a new era of music from her, many of them had already suspected that it had been a wig for quite some time.
Billie posted a TikTok of her revealing her hairpiece and even commented that she’s been rocking it for “like 2 months.”

The video now has more than 6 million likes and over 165,000 comments. “My whole life is a lie,” one person wrote while another said, “Wait, so you been doing Hannah Montana for two months?!?” There’s also a lot of Billie’s fans in the comments saying they knew all along.
Billie’s hairstylist, Lissa Renn, also posted a video (that has since been deleted) of the hair-lightening process, which took a whole six weeks to complete.

By the looks of it though, we think it was totally worth it! We are LOVING her new hairstyle and cannot wait to experience this new Billie Eilish era.
